The Bisigi themes project has been revived.
The original maintainer of the project announced it was to wind down back in November of last year.
The project created some of the most comprehensively designed GTK2 themes during its three active years but following the move by most major distributions to GTK3, the project wound down in November of last year.
But now the project has been picked up by DeviantArt user ‘Grvrulz’, who has tasked himself with porting all of the themes to GTK3 in time for the release of Ubuntu 12.04. The first Bisigi theme to be released is ‘Airlines‘ – an OS X-style theme – whose porting progress can be see in the screenshot above.
Hopefully the momentum will be maintained to see not just existing themes ported but new ones created.
